Low visibility due to heavy rain has made the brand new Nissan Navarra NP 300, driven by a 63 year-old,  fell off the cliff along Maharlika Highway in Hidhid village, Matnog, Sorsogon.

Police said the driver Rafael Abrira of San Isidro, General Santos City did not expect that he would fell into the cliff as the brand new pick-up truck he was driven hovered along a sharp curve of the highway amidst a heavy downpour in  Hidhid Matnog, the same place where a passenger bus had also fallen off a month ago.

Abrira who was unharmed, is traveling from Manila going to Matnog terminal to catch the afternoon ferry.

Residents said the area had since been posing danger to motorists and travelers on a south road because of a sharp uphill curve.

Police Captain Jake Peralta, Matnog police chief said that they managed to rescue the victim and retrieved the vehicle with the help of the personnel from Bureau of Fire Protection and Police Mobile Force Company.

The police reminds travelers who are about to pass by the same area to be extra cautious and always heed the traffic signage along the highway. (Source: Police report)
