By Sorsogon Provincial Information Office
Four locally stranded individuals (LSIs) including a baby and a pregnant woman tested positive Sunday, July 26, 2020 for corona virus, bringing to 15 the total number of active cases in Sorsogon.
Governor Chiz Escudero identified the individuals as Jespher Balinan Adarne, 24 years old and his live-in partner Joan Ermino Espenille, also 24 years old, both from Barangay Paco, Gubat town; Aiko Galan, 24 years old and her one year and six months baby, Aiffy Galan Fremista from Barangay San Rafael, Santa Magdalena town.
Adarne, Espenille and Galan signed a waiver to make public their identities in order to help local authority conduct contact tracing of the other individuals they have close contact with.
Reports from DOH Bicol showed that live-in partners Adarne registered as Bicol Patient No. 355 and Espenille who is six-months pregnant and registered as Bicol Patient No. 356 came from Barangay San Antonio in Parañaque City and boarded a passenger bus bound for the town of Gubat in Sorsogon last July 13.
There were 24 other passengers and two drivers on board the Elavil Bus No. 7678 with a Cubao-Gubat route.
Arriving in Sorsogon the next day, the couple were initially processed at Cabid-an Quarantine Facility Processing Unit before they were referred to Gubat Bicol University Quarantine Facility since Gubat town was their final destination.
They were quarantined at the Gubat facility until the release of rapid antibody and RT-PCR tests.
Adarne and Espinelle are now confined at the COVID19 ward of a provincial government health facility as both have tested positive for COVID019.
Meantime, Galan who is registered as Bicol Patient No. 358 and her baby daughter registered as Bicol Patient No. 357, came from Las Piñas City.
Mother and daughter travelled to Sorsogon on board a rented car with two more passengers and a driver last July 16,2020. One of the passengers alighted in Naga City while the remaining passengers proceeded to Sorsogon.
The three passengers were also processed in Cabid-an before they were referred to San Rafael Elementary School Barangay Isolation Unit (BIU) in Santa Magdalena town where they underwent Swab tests. Only Galan and her baby showed positive for COVID-19 and were now transferred to the provincial government health facility. #
